Countertop Care Guide

General Daily Care

• Wipe up spills quickly – especially wine, coffee, oils, and acidic liquids like lemon juice.

• Use a mild dish soap and warm water with a soft cloth or sponge.

• Avoid harsh cleaners or anything acidic/abrasive (no bleach, vinegar, or ammonia).

• Use a cutting board on softer surfaces – never cut directly on the surface of Quartz, Marble, Soapstone, Limestone, or Travertine. 

• Use trivets or hot pads for hot pans on any man-made material.
  
  

Granite Countertops

• Seal regularly – Most granite should be sealed every 1–2 years. We seal all natural stone counters at installation - after that it's up to you! 

• Check if it needs sealing: Drip water on the surface. If it darkens quickly, it's time to reseal.
  
  
  

Quartz Countertops

• No sealing required! Quartz is non-porous and low maintenance.

• Watch the heat – Quartz can discolor or crack from direct heat. Use hot pads or trivets.
  
  
  

Stain & Spot Removal Tips

• Stain Type: Recommended Action

• Grease / Oil: Mild degreasing dish soap + warm water

• Hard water marks: Vinegar and water (only for quartz/porcelain) – not granite!

• Ink / Dye: Isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth

• Sticky residues: Plastic scraper + soapy water

Damage Prevention

• Don’t stand or sit on your countertops – even the strongest materials can crack!

• Avoid dragging heavy appliances or pans across the surface.

• Keep pets off the countertops – claws can scratch the surface over time.
