Preparing for Your Template

Our team will take precise measurements of your space and create a physical template to ensure a perfect fit for your new countertops.

Most template appointments take 45 to 90 minutes, depending on your project size and layout complexity.

We’ll call you ahead of time if we’re running ahead or behind schedule.

What to Have Ready

1. Cabinets Must Be Installed and Stable

Cabinets must be fully installed and secured in their final position.
No need to remove existing countertops—but if they’re already gone, that’s fine too.
We can template directly on new cabinet boxes as long as their placement is final.

Any changes to cabinets after the template will altar the fit of your countertops.

2. Fixtures and Appliances on Site or Specs Available

Please have your sink, cooktop, faucet, and any other built-ins available on-site.
If they’re not here yet, be prepared to provide model numbers or specification sheets so we can confirm fit.

3. Clear the Workspace

Remove everything from the counters and surrounding areas.
Make sure there’s easy access to the work area from the entryway.
Put away any pets that are protective, overly curious, or likely to bark—this helps our team stay safe and focused.

4. Have a Decision-Maker Present

If questions come up about seam placement, overhang, or other details, we’ll need someone there to give the go-ahead.
If a decision maker is not present, please ensure that they're available for a phone call at the time of the template.

What Happens After the Template?

Once we’ve completed your measurements, we’ll move your project into fabrication. Most installs are scheduled within 7–14 business days after the template is complete, depending on material availability and project details.
